The Centre culturel afro-canadien de Montréal (CCAM) launches the Grant Emerging Amina Gerba

Montreal, October 8, 2025 - The Centre culturel afro-canadien de Montréal (CCAM) is proud to announce the creation of the Grant Emerging Amina Gerbaan initiative designed to support and accompany young Afro-descendant entrepreneurs working in the field of cultural entrepreneurship and artistic heritage management.

From October 08 to November 19, 2025, young entrepreneurs are invited to submit their applications. This Grant will enable the winner to bring his or her entrepreneurial project to fruition by covering essential costs related to start-up, planning or marketing strategies.

In addition to financial support of $3,000, the winner will benefit from a customized support program, developed in collaboration with Entreprendre Ici. This program will include a crowdfunding campaign, mentoring sessions, specialized workshops, and an internship at the CCAM, providing the opportunity to gain practical experience and refine their entrepreneurial project.

The creation of this grant is based on the generosity and vision of the Hon. Amina Gerbaa businesswoman renowned for her commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and inclusion.

Timetables

  • The final date for project submission is 19/11/2025
  • Projects take 6 weeks to process.
  • Two information sessions will be offered to registrants.
  • Successful applicants will be notified at the end of the processing period.

Originally from Cameroon, Amina Gerba is a Quebec-based entrepreneur and businesswoman. She is the founder ofAfrique Expansionand the Forum Afrique Expansion and Laboratoires Kariliss. Recognized as a bridge builder between Canada and Africa, she is renowned for her commitment to entrepreneurship, inclusion and socio-economic progress. Appointed independent senator to the Senate of Canada in 2021, she embodies inspiring leadership and puts her experience at the service of the next generation of entrepreneurs.
