In this new episode of Afro-voix, Marie-Célie Agnant, writer of novels, short stories and poems, meets Pascale Devette, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Université de Montréal, for a discussion on the impact of racism and oppression on women, taking as its starting point Marie-Célie Agnant's novel, Femmes au temps des carnassiers, a true story of women's resistance to the terror of dictatorship in Haiti under the regime of Francois Duvalier, a very difficult social context in which choosing between silence and speech is sometimes tantamount to choosing between life and death.
