Amina Gerba Emerging Grant
The Grant Emerging aims to support young Afro-descendant entrepreneurs working in cultural entrepreneurship and artistic heritage management. In the amount of $3,000, it offers coaching and financial support to help recipients bring their projects to fruition and strengthen their impact in the cultural milieu. About the Emerging Amina Gerba Grant
The Amina Gerba Emerging Grant is a grant from the Montreal Afro-Canadian Cultural Centre (MACC) offered to a young Afro-descendant entrepreneur between the ages of 21 and 35 who demonstrates major development potential in the field of cultural entrepreneurship or artistic heritage management. The creation of the Grant was made possible by the generosity and commitment of the Honourable Amina Gerba, a businesswoman and senator renowned for her role in building bridges between Canada and Africa, and for her unwavering support for diversity, inclusion and the next generation of entrepreneurs.
- Be an African or Afro-descendant student, recent graduate or cultural entrepreneur between the ages of 21 and 35
- Have a project in the field of cultural entrepreneurship or cultural and artistic heritage management
- The project must be under development;
- Hold at least permanent resident status and reside in Montréal
- Undertake project management training with one of our partner companies
One (1) project per candidate.
Initial screening: verification of compliance with eligibility criteria, in particular the pre-start-up or development phase in cultural entrepreneurship and artistic heritage management.
Initial assessment: each project is rated according to its economic viability, cultural impact and the applicant's commitment to promoting artistic and cultural heritage.
Selection of finalists: only projects with a score above 70% go forward for a second assessment.
Interviews: the four highest-scoring candidates are invited to an interview to assess their motivation, long-term vision and ability to carry out the project.
Final selection: the candidate with the highest interview score is named the winner of the Emerging Amina Gerba Grant.

- Successful applicants will be notified at the end of the processing period.
