Bal Afrikana 2025: CCAM unveils the Ambassadors' Club for its charity initiative

Montreal, May 2, 2025 - The Montreal Afro-Canadian Cultural Centre (CCAM) is proud to unveil the ambassadors for the 2ᵉ edition of Bal Afrikana, its flagship benefit event, to be held on June 7, 2025 at Salle le 9e, under the theme "Renaissance".

Bal Afrikana is an immersive evening celebrating the rich tradition of fashion as a means of cultural, identity and personal affirmation. A true tribute to the Afro aesthetic, the event showcases local creators, stylists and designers, and invites participants to flaunt their modern or traditional outfits in support of a noble cause: facilitating access to art and culture for young people from historically marginalized neighborhoods.

The Bal Afrikana Ambassadors' Club is made up of leaders who are committed, passionate and deeply rooted in their communities, and who take to heart initiatives that make an impact. Their role: to act as Bal Afrikana 's spokespeople and amplify its influence and reach through their personal and professional networks.

This year, CCAM is honored to be able to count on the involvement of three inspiring personalities who embody the values of diversity, creativity and social commitment that are at the heart of Bal Afrikana:

Pierre-Henri Dobill - Chartered professional accountant and senior consultant at EY

In the words of our ambassadors:

Déborah Cherenfant
"For me, fashion and impact go hand in hand. The Bal Afrikana is a perfect example of an event where elegance and social mission meet. I'm delighted to be an ambassador and invite everyone to join us for this unforgettable evening."

Pierre-Henri Dobill
" Bal Afrikana is not just an event: it's a cultural manifesto, a celebration of our heritage through style, music and encounters. As an ambassador, I'm honored to help spread the word about this initiative that connects our identities, while supporting essential programs for our youth."

Kadiatou Sow
"I accepted this ambassadorial role because the Bal Afrikana embodies what I like to see in Montreal: a space for exchange where our cultures are highlighted with pride and refinement. It's also a meaningful event, because every ticket sold contributes to a promising initiative for our young people."
